1. When can I request a refund?
This policy covers the Weekly and Monthly Obsidian VPN subscriptions, including renewal payments, sold through Google Play by CloudPath Network Technology Limited. The Android app is listed as Obsidian VPN under SANDIAMOND DIGITAL PAYMENT, package ai.sandiamond.free.stealth. These are digital subscriptions; no physical item needs to be returned.
You can contact us at any time after payment
We do not impose a fixed cutoff for submitting a refund request to us. Please report a problem as soon as you notice it so we can locate the payment and investigate. Sending a request does not guarantee approval; eligibility depends on the circumstances and your applicable consumer rights.
Google Play has a separate request process. Under its general app and subscription refund guidance, a request within 48 hours may be eligible for Google's review. If more than 48 hours have passed, contact us. The 48-hour guidance is not an unconditional money-back guarantee or a cutoff for contacting CloudPath. Google's rules vary by purchase and region; see its EEA and UK guidance where applicable.
2. In which cases may a refund be approved?
We review requests on their merits. Examples of eligible circumstances include:
- Duplicate or incorrect charges: a duplicate completed payment or a verified billing error.
- Premium not activated: a valid payment completed, but the purchased Premium benefits were not provided.
- A verified service failure: a problem with our service prevented use of the purchased benefits. We may ask for relevant error details or offer reasonable troubleshooting to assess what happened.
- Other eligible circumstances: a refund required by applicable law, or another circumstance confirmed as eligible during our review.
Each affected charge is assessed separately. Simply submitting a request, not using the app, or forgetting to cancel renewal does not automatically establish eligibility. We may decline requests we cannot reasonably verify or that are fraudulent, without limiting mandatory consumer rights. If approved, we confirm the transaction and refund amount; a full or partial refund may apply according to the circumstances, Google Play's supported process, and applicable law.
If you believe a charge was unauthorized, promptly follow Google's guidance for unrecognized charges. Do not send us login credentials or complete bank details.
3. How do I apply?
Option A — Google Play
- Sign in to the Google Account used for the purchase and open Google Play's refund request instructions.
- Use the official request flow. If needed, open Google Play's Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history, find the Obsidian VPN payment, and choose Report a problem.
- Explain the issue, request a refund, and submit Google's form. Follow its confirmation and status instructions.
If the order is not shown, check that you are using the purchasing Google Account. If Google's request option is unavailable or the payment was more than 48 hours ago, you can still contact us below.
Option B — Email CloudPath
Email dev@cloudpathnetwork.com with the subject Obsidian VPN refund request and the information listed in the next section. This route is available even if you have uninstalled the app.
Start a refund enquiry
The button opens your email app. Review and send the message there; this website does not submit a refund or send email automatically. If you have no email app configured, send a message to the address above from your email service.
Email a refund requestTell us if Google has already reviewed or refunded the same payment, so we can avoid duplicate handling. Repeated submissions for the same transaction do not speed up the review.
4. What information or documents are needed?
To help us locate and assess the request, provide:
- the Google Play order number, usually beginning GPA;
- the purchase or renewal date, amount and currency, and whether it was the Weekly or Monthly plan;
- a brief refund reason and a reply email address; and
- if relevant, the app and Android versions, an error screenshot, or a brief description of the service problem.
If an order number is unavailable or more verification is reasonably needed, we may ask for the Google Play receipt, purchase-confirmation email, or an order-history screenshot showing the relevant transaction. An app user ID may help if your version provides one, but it is not required if the purchase can otherwise be identified.
Redact unrelated personal details. We do not require a passport, government ID, full bank statement, full payment card number, card security code, Google password, browsing history, or VPN traffic logs for an ordinary refund request. Request information is handled under our Privacy Policy.
5. How long do review and payment take?
Our review
Our target is to review a complete request within 3–5 business days after receiving the information reasonably needed to assess it. For our review, business days mean Monday to Friday, excluding Hong Kong public holidays. If more information or investigation is needed, we will explain the delay and provide an update.
We notify you by email of the outcome, the reason if declined, or the refund amount if approved. For an approved refund, we promptly initiate it through Google Play's refund process. Requests made directly to Google are reviewed separately by Google; its published decision timeframe is generally 1–4 days.
After approval
Google Play generally returns an approved refund to the payment method used for the original purchase. Some methods and split payments follow Google's specific refund rules; we do not require a new bank account or charge a fee to process a request. The payment method and provider determine when funds appear.
| Payment method | Estimated time for funds to appear |
|---|---|
| Credit or debit card | Usually 3–5 business days; the card issuer can take up to 10 business days. |
| Google Play balance, if used | Usually 1 business day; occasionally up to 3 business days. |
| Other supported payment methods | Times vary and may be longer, especially with mobile carrier billing. Check the method-specific estimate in Google's current guidance. |
The review period and the time for funds to arrive are separate. These are estimates, not a guaranteed combined turnaround. See Google's refund timelines and refund status help. If an approved refund is overdue for its payment method, contact us with the order number and approval date, or contact Google and the payment provider using the refund confirmation.
6. What about renewal and Premium access?
Canceling renewal and requesting a refund are separate actions. To stop future renewal charges, manage or cancel the subscription in Google Play and complete its confirmation steps. Uninstalling the app or sending a refund request does not itself cancel a subscription.
If a purchase is refunded, the related Premium entitlement may end according to Google Play's subscription status. Check your subscription status after a refund, including any other active plan. Our subscription terms explain renewal and cancellation.
7. Your rights and our contact
This policy forms part of our Terms of Service. It does not restrict a mandatory refund, withdrawal, faulty-service remedy, or other consumer right that applies where you live. Where a mandatory right or applicable Google Play rule provides greater protection, that protection applies.
