Getting connected

A good place to start.

How do I start using Obsidian VPN?

Install Obsidian VPN from Google Play, open the app, and review its disclosures. When you start a connection, Android will ask you to approve a VPN configuration. Approve it if you want the app to establish a tunnel. You can disconnect in the app or through Android’s VPN settings.

Why does Android ask for VPN permission?

Android’s VPN permission lets Obsidian VPN route selected device traffic through an encrypted tunnel to a VPN endpoint. It is necessary for the VPN connection function. You can decline the request, and you can disconnect or revoke it in Android settings.

What should I try if a connection does not work?

First check that your device has a working internet connection without the VPN. Update the app from Google Play, disconnect any other active VPN, then reconnect. You can also switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data or try another connection option offered in the app. Network restrictions and temporary server conditions may affect availability.

If the issue continues, contact support with your Android version, app version, a short description, and the error shown. Please do not send passwords or browsing history.

Which devices are supported?

Obsidian VPN is available for Android. Google Play shows compatibility for your device and the app’s current requirements. This website does not offer an iOS, Windows, or macOS version.

Subscriptions, explained

You stay in control.

What does Premium include, and what does it cost?

Premium unlocks advanced features, premium routes, and the removal of in-app ads. Weekly costs $4.99 USD every week; Monthly costs $12.99 USD every month. Both renew automatically until canceled. Check the in-app feature list and the final Google Play purchase screen for local pricing, taxes, and terms.

The free version is available without subscribing and includes ads. No free trial is included in the standard plans described on this site.

How do I cancel my next renewal?

In Google Play, choose your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Obsidian VPN → Cancel subscription, then complete the confirmation steps. Use the Google Account used to purchase. You can also open subscription management.

Cancel before your next renewal. Paid access normally continues through the current paid period. Uninstalling, clearing app data, or requesting deletion does not cancel billing.

I paid but cannot access Premium. What now?

Check that Google Play shows an active Obsidian VPN subscription and that you are using the same Google Account used for the purchase. Restart or update the app and use a purchase-restoration option if your app version provides one. Avoid buying a second subscription to fix an entitlement issue.

If access is still missing, email dev@cloudpathnetwork.com with the Google Play order reference (usually beginning GPA), purchase date, app version, and a description. Do not include a full card number or your Google password.

Can I get a refund?

Canceling a subscription does not automatically refund an earlier charge. Eligibility depends on Google Play’s policy, your purchase, and applicable consumer law. Read Google Play’s refund guidance and follow its request process, or contact us for purchase support. Mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.

Can I change my plan?

If Google Play offers a plan change for your subscription, review the price and effective date shown there before confirming. Billing adjustments depend on the change and Google Play’s displayed terms. Contact support if you cannot find the option.

Privacy & data

A clear answer about your data.

Does the VPN service retain IP or traffic logs?

Our VPN service does not store IP addresses, connection timestamps, or traffic logs. It necessarily processes network addresses and packets temporarily to operate a connection. AdMob and Firebase separately process certain identifiers, usage, advertising, and diagnostic data; see our Privacy Policy.

Why do you use AdMob and Firebase?

AdMob supports ads in the free app. Firebase supports app analytics and technical diagnostics. Depending on the enabled services and your settings, these integrations can process device identifiers, app interactions, approximate location, and diagnostic data. Premium removes in-app ads, while necessary purchase, security, and diagnostic processing can continue.

How do I request deletion of my data?

Visit Request data deletion for a direct email route and details of what to include, what can be deleted, and information that may need to be retained. There is no need to buy Premium to make a request. Manage any paid subscription separately in Google Play.
